Description
Cashew apple honey comes from the cashew tree plantations of Benin, in the Collines, Zou and Borgou departments. The cashew tree gives us the cashew nut and its fruit, the cashew apple. From February to May, bees forage on its flowers. The honey is harvested by local beekeepers, then jarred without being heated or pasteurised.
What you will taste
A light golden amber colour and a liquid texture that finely crystallises over time. The nose is fruity and floral. On the palate, it is round and mild, with the characteristic notes of cashew apple.
How to enjoy it
On crêpes, in porridge or with fromage blanc. With duck foie gras or fresh cheeses such as Brie or goat’s cheese. In baking, for a fruity touch.
